Final push for the Charity Project
Dear all, Thanks for your support in the last months! This is the last shout for the fund raise. My trip to Sri Lanka is in 4 weeks and that’s the deadline we have to push our donations to the highest as possible. We already reached more than 2300 USD ! and hopefully we will be able to achieve a realistic goal of 3080 USD by mid February 2012. BECT is a non-profit organization with an active initiative in the conservation and biodiversity of elephants in Sri Lanka. MAIN...
Looking back at 2011 and Looking forward for 2012
Last year was definitely a great year in many ways and a busy one at that for my triathlon activities! It started with a great purchase and a good investment back in January when I got my first triathlon bike, Scott Plasma 2, 2011 Model. Throughout 2011, I participated in races that I am truly proud of (Sundown Half Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Philippines, Megatri Long Course Triathlon and Powerman. Also participated in other small local races). ...

D.A.S. Audio Sponsorship
I’m so glad to announce my first sponsor, D.A.S. Audio! This is great news and a motivational injection for my upcoming events where I will be competing in races carrying D.A.S. Audio’s brand. I approached Juan Luis, D.A.S. Audio’s Managing Director for Asia, and Eduardo Lopez, the Business Operations Manager for Asia who encouragingly accommodated me with their support by entrusting their company and brand through me as an age grouper triathlete and a friend. From now onwards,...

North Face 100 (50km Duo) 2011 Race Report
The North Face 100 was held at the MacRitchie Reservoir Park in Singapore. It’s a trail run (uphill-downhill and 90% off-road) in a course with great scenery. The way this race (50km duo) works is that you run with a partner, and at the end of the day, the times are combined for a total team time. It was race day morning and the four of us Ziggy, Jamie , Bastian and myself were all ready to rock, Team Jamie-Ziggy & Team Bastian-Edu but the race started with a...

First Month of Season 2011-12
Training-wise, the season is starting to take shape and settle into the calendar. First week was cut short due to a business trip, and add together a stunt I pulled by singing up the last minute for MegaTri. Second week, I was recovering from the race, so I didn’t train as much. Third week, things started to come together, and finally, this fourth week, it seems that all is shaping up well. Of course flexibility is important to be able to adapt to friends, work, meetings,...
Megatri Long Course Triathlon 2011
I decided to do Megatri Long Course Triathlon in the last minute. It was on a Thursday night while Tono was doing his fitting, and the race was already on Sunday of that same week. Since my 70.3 in Philippines, I didn’t do much training – no swim, and just some running and easy bike (and lot’s of room for eating and cravings :P) Physical conditions weren’t the best ones, but on the other hand, I had the opportunity to race with friends, and do 102...
Ironman 70.3 Philippines 2011
I have been looking forward to race Ironman 70.3 Philippines for many months. I devoted lots of training hours for this race… This was my second Half Ironman event and a totally different course from the first one I did back in December last year in Phuket. I was hoping for a 30-minute improvement from last year’s race, and I hoped my goal wasn’t too unreachable. So it was the race weekend… I took a night flight to Camarines Sur via Manila from Singapore. This time, it...
Asia-Pacific Championship Ironman 70.3 Phuket 2010
Phuket, Thailand was my first Ironman 70.3 event. It was such a great experience. That experience wasn’t only about the race itself. It was the entire journey with Juan, Patricia, Diego and Jehanna. It was the many months of training together: brick sessions at Changi (It was just like going out for camping every time!), swim and run gatherings at Queenstown swimming complex, tons of chats about triathlons with the gang, and many, many laughs shared together. The race...
